The Van Berkom JMSB Case Competition is organized by a group of MBA students and alumni from the John Molson School of Business under the direction of Reena Atanasiadis, a senior finance lecturer at the John Molson School of Business. The team works throughout the year to organize the competition and, during the two-days of competition, are supported by a team of 15 - 20 dedicated volunteers.
2018 Organizing Team
The 2018 organizing team is made up of two MBA alumni and two current MBA students from the John Molson School of Business. The team would like to welcome all the participants to Montreal and wish them the best of luck for the competition. With a great line-up of events and venues, they hope that the experiences, friendships, and memories gained at the VBCC will last well beyond the competition.
Danielle Ker: An MBA alumna from the John Molson School of Business, Danielle is a serial entrepreneur with over twelve years' experience owning and managing small businesses and currently teaches Entrepreneurship at the John Molson School of Business. Danielle also has a passion for organizing events and 2018 will be her fifth year on the organizing committee of the Van Berkom JMSB Case Competition. She's looking forward to welcoming another group of exceptional finance students to Montreal and to the John Molson School of Business.
Anza Khan: A current MBA student from John Molson School of Business with a background in software engineering from India, Anza has over 4 years of experience in the recruitment industry, working with some of America’s largest health insurance companies. She is outgoing and involved in many school programs such as the John Molson Women in Business Club, the Graduate Student Association and is involved with the Van Berkom Case Competition for her second consecutive year. She looks forward to welcoming and meeting students from programs all over the world!
Juliya Regy: An undergraduate alumna from the John Molson School of Business, Juliya went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy and obtain her CPA auditor title. She is currently pursuing her MBA at JMSB. Juliya has a passion for community involvement and event planning. Having already been a part of student life at JMSB in the past, she is looking forward to meeting the participants, volunteers and judges and ensuring another successful year of the VBCC.
Carlos Vargas: With an engineering background and a MBA from the John Molson School of Business, Carlos has accumulated more than seven years of experience in management consulting, working in diverse industries and mandates including strategic and financial analysis. He currently manages a consulting firm focused on helping small businesses grow efficiently. Having enjoyed the experience of being part of such unique event in the previous editions of the case competition, Carlos is joining the organizing committee for the fifth year.
