The Van Berkom JMSB Case Competition is organized by a group of MBA students and alumni from the John Molson School of Business under the direction of Reena Atanasiadis, a senior finance lecturer at the John Molson School of Business. The team works throughout the year to organize the competition and, during the two-days of competition, are supported by a team of 15 - 20 dedicated volunteers.
2019 Organizing Team
The 2019 organizing team is made up of two MBA alumni and two current MBA students from the John Molson School of Business. The team would like to welcome all the participants to Montreal and wish them the best of luck for the competition. With a great line-up of events and venues, they hope that the experiences, friendships, and memories gained at the VBCC will last well beyond the competition.
Danielle Ker: An MBA alumna from the John Molson School of Business, Danielle is a serial entrepreneur with over fifteen years' experience owning and managing small businesses and currently teaches Entrepreneurship at the John Molson School of Business. Danielle also has a passion for organizing events and 2019 will be her sixth year on the organizing committee of the Van Berkom JMSB Case Competition. She's looking forward to welcoming another group of exceptional finance students to Montreal and to the John Molson School of Business.
Sapandeep Randhawa: A graduate alumnus from the Concordia University in Industrial Engineering and a current MBA student in John Molson School of Business (Concordia University), Sapandeep has over 5 years of experience in supply chain and analytics, working in automotive manufacturing and consumer goods industry. He has been involved in the Toastmasters International Organization for the last 4 years and is a public speaker. He has a passion for case competitions and has participated in case competitions organized by Bell Canada, International Community Outreach program (ICOP) Concordia and Graduate Management Consulting Association (GMCA) McGill. Using the perspective of a participant, now he is looking forward to meeting the participants, volunteers and judges and ensuring another successful year of the VBCC.
Bilal Waseem: A current MBA student from John Molson School of Business & Surgical Innovation Fellow at McGill University with a background in Mechanical Engineering from Pakistan. Bilal has over 4 years of entrepreneurial experience in Human Resources, Fashion and Education industry. Bilal is pursuing John Maxwell Certification in Leadership and is passionate to talk about personal growth and leadership. He is looking forward to welcoming and meeting students, volunteers and judges from around the globe!
Carlos Vargas: With an engineering background and a MBA from the John Molson School of Business, Carlos has accumulated more than seven years of experience in management consulting, working in diverse industries and mandates including strategic and financial analysis. He currently manages a consulting firm focused on helping small businesses grow efficiently. Having enjoyed the experience of being part of such unique event in the previous editions of the case competition, Carlos is joining the organizing committee for the sixth year.
